Wine can be intimidating, but one NYC-based sommelier is here to help you learn all you need to become a more confident wine drinker. You'll discover how to see, smell, and taste wine, delve into wine's historical highlights, and hear tips and tricks for getting the wine you want at restaurants and shops. We'll wrap up with a Q&A session where any and all of your burning wine questions will be answered!
Materials required:
This is intended to be an entry-level course and no experience is required. Participants will have the option to taste along with the instructor, get and give live feedback and ask any questions from the comfort of your living room!
About the Instructor:
Amy Karasavas received her sommelier certification from the Sommelier Society of America. She works at a wine shop in Brooklyn and teaches public and private wine classes. She has traveled some of the world’s most famous wine regions, including Napa and Sonoma, Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Loire Valley, Portugal’s Duoro Valley, Chile's Maipo Valley, Tuscany, the Finger Lakes, and Long Island's North Fork.
What will be included in my Virtual Class package?
One ticket includes an access link to your live, online class. The class will be delivered via web conferencing software and feature a live, professional instructor who will walk you through a lesson as described above. You will have the opportunity to ask questions as well as participate from home, and will receive associated recipes with what you've learned.
Will I need anything from home to use in the class?
You will need a reliable Internet connection as well as a computer or device with which you can access your virtual class. We recommend you arrive to class 5-10 minutes early to ensure you're able to set up your device and connection. Additionally, if you'd like to participate, you will need the materials and/or equipment listed in the description above.
Am I able to ask questions or interact with the class?
Yes, you'll both be able to ask questions using the chat function in the video hosting software as well as at certain intervals during the class via voice/audio. If the class winds up being on the smaller side, more spontaneous interaction/questions will be encouraged.
